Summary
"As the prescribed burning begins for the season, an arsonist strikes in Snake Valley creating another serious fire to add to Summer's toll. While arson psychologist Rebekah Doley and fire investigator Geoff Pike piece together the clues to track down the arsonist, the communities affected take stock. While some things will recover by themselves, others will benefit from a helping hand. Just under half of the Grampians National Park is burnt - it won't look the same again in our lifetimes. While most plant and animal populations will eventually recover, it seems we've lost some red gums which are over 500 years old. Across the other side of the state, in Erica, Colleen Wood is spending all her time and money on koala recovery - and the world's first operations to restore koalas' eyesight - so down the track she can release them back into the bush.We come to the end of another season - and in this ever-changing climate it's time to look ahead. It seems we need to learn to live with bushfires. The race is on to adapt to our increasingly fiery future..." -- edited from website
