Summary
"Genetically modified foods have been available in supermarkets since the nineties.Proponents say they're a way of producing more food with fewer chemicals and they can even make us healthier. But as we look for better ways to feed our hungry world, is genetic engineering the answer? Or, are we messing too much with nature? What's the future of food?-- In 2006, seduced by the challenge of a dangerous climb to the top of the world, Lincoln Hall confidently set off to add his name to the list of conquerors, but in an area ominously known as the Death Zone he collapsed and was left for dead. By extreme good fortune he survived. Jonica Newby caught up with Lincoln, and a high-altitude doctor, to see what happens to the mind and body at 8,000 metres above sea level. -- As a mathematician, it's fair to say that Dr. Clio Cresswell loves numbers. In fact, Clio loves numbers so much, she once wrote a book about sex and mathematics, which is surprising, given she started out studying Visual Arts?-- Catalyst reporter and palaeontologist, Dr Paul Willis is a specialist in fossil crocodiles. Well, for a brief period at least, he's back with his old mates again and, this time, they've found what Paul reckons is the most important crocodile he's ever seen ? the great-great grand daddy of all living crocodiles." edited from website
