Summary
Joe Leahy is a wealthy businessman who runs a coffee plantation in the Papua New Guinea highlands. Joe's mixed race (his father was the Australian explorer Michael Leahy) sets him apart from his neighbours, the Ganiga, who eke out a traditional subsistence lifestyle. The film presents a portrait of a society slowly adjusting to the demands of the modern world -a society caught between ancient tribal loyalties and the sharp business practices of the twentieth century
