Summary
"Marcel Duchamp was born in 1887 in France into a well-to-do bourgeois family and went on to become one of the most provocative and influential artists of the 20th century. His first success was at the Armory Show in New York in 1913, where he exhibited his iconic neo-cubist ?Nude Descending A Staircase'. After joining the Surrealist group in Paris, he started producing ready-mades with mass produced objects like bottle racks and shovels. His most notorious ready-made, exhibited under the title ?Fountain', is a urinal. Duchamp had a profound influence on European and American art and artists. This documentary looks at his art and life with interviews with the grand master of Dada and Surrealism in person. (From France, in English and French, English subtitles)"--website
