- Summary
- On the morning of 11 September 2001, the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York City were completely destroyed by hijacked US commercial airliners crashing into them. A third hijacked airplane hit the Pentagon and a fourth crashed in Pennsylvania before reaching its intended destination - the White House in Washington DC. These horrifying terrorist attacks had considerable effects on the politics and economics of the US and many other countries in the world. The sectors of the economy most immediately affected after the attacks were travel and tourism. This case study examines the effects on and the organizational response of the organizations that were most affected
